This is a really tough game to handicap because its hard to tell just how motivated Chile will be for this one, especially since there are a few whispers of less than honourable intentions (ie. not trying hard to influence the outcome of the group).

What we do know for certain is that Ecuador needs to win. Chile doesn't need a win so they'll be happy to sit back and counter attack. We also know that Chile has quality attacking players, players that can score (Suazo) and create (Fernandez). With Ecuador attacking to try and get the win, I fear they may leave gaps for Chile to exploit on the counter attack.

If Ecuador gets the first goal, I think they'll win. However, the longer the game goes without a goal, the more desperate Ecuador will become and they could throw more players forward. The more risks that Ecuador takes, the more chance there is that Chile will get a goal on the counter attack. This is a Chile team that can score 4 goals away at Colombia so if they get opportunities, they can certainly convert them into goals.

A lot depends on who gets the first goal here and a lot depends on the intentions of Chile (honourable or not) so there's a lot of unknowns for me. As a result, I've declined the opportunity to place a bet on this one.

If I was forced to choose a side here, I'd go for Ecuador PK +100. I think Ecuador is definately good enough and desperate enough to score a goal but if Chile scores the important 1st goal then I think there's a good chance of a draw. In my opinion, Ecuador PK +100 seems to be the best value available.

For anyone who makes 2nd half bets, this might be an ideal opportunity to place a 2nd half bet. If Ecuador is winning at half time, I'd recommend playing the under for the 2nd half because neither team will have incentive to score in the 2nd half.

Very interesting match though. This is going to be an exciting day for South American qualifying!
