Any Reason Not to Pound Tottenham Tomorrow?
Although the Chelsea game ended 3-0 in favor of the loathsome Blues, Tottenham played a very good match, just caught some bad breaks that ended in goals. I was very impressed. Tottenham's also been very good on the road, and should be hungry for a win after 2 straight losses to the big clubs. I think that since the Spurs aren't a huge name team, they'll be playing for recognition in the Carling Cup, whereas you may see lacksadaisical efforts from some of the bigger name clubs.

I just don't think Preston can keep up with the Spurs tomorrow, and I'm thinking of betting this match heavy. I need my soccer buddy's insights on this first though! What do you think?

Also, I got pounded in Carling Cup today, so I want to cut my plays down to maybe one or two matches tomorrow. Which do you think are the best?

    Preston v Tottenham

    Carling Cup third round
Venue: Deepdale Date: Wednesday 23 September 2009 Kick-off: 1945 BST
    TEAM NEWS
Preston North End's injury crisis shows no sign of abating, leaving boss Alan Irvine short of players.
On-loan Neill Collins is cup-tied so Youl Mawene looks set to replace him alongside Liam Chilvers in defence.
There is a slim chance Michael Dawson could return to help solve Tottenham's defensive woes after injuries to Ledley King and Sebastien Bassong.
If Dawson fails to return, Harry Redknapp is likely to play Tom Huddlestone alongside Vedran Corluka.
    MATCH PREVIEW
Following the euphoria of their five-match unbeaten start to the season, comprehensive back-to-back defeats to two of the Premier League's big boys have brought Tottenham fans back to earth.
The league is a marathon not a sprint of course, but over a season the Carling Cup has proven to be a far more productive stomping ground for Spurs in recent years, reaching Wembley finals in successive years.
In contrast, given their impressive campaigns in the Championship in recent seasons, it comes as something of a surprise how lamentable Preston's Carling Cup record has been.

Despite favourable home draws they have bombed out of the first round in three out of the past four seasons to the likes of Morecambe and Port Vale, leaving many North End fans scratching their heads as to why.
    MATCH FACTS
    Head-to-head
    • These clubs have met 67 times; Preston have won 21, Tottenham 29 and 17 were drawn.
    • Preston need to score twice to take their all-time total of goals in competitive matches against Spurs to 100.
    • The last time these clubs met was over two legs in the second round of the League Cup in September 1996. Spurs drew the away leg, and then won 3-0 at White Hart Lane. They also knocked out North End in 1971, but were taken to extra time in a fourth-round replay at Deepdale.
    Preston
    • Preston are playing their sixth successive home tie in the Carling Cup, and aiming to reach the fourth round for the first time in seven seasons.
    • It was in that run in 2002/03 that the Deepdale club last met a Premier League club in the competition. They defeated Birmingham 2-0 away in the third round.
North End have won their last five matches at home this season, and have lost just once in 10 games in all competitions.
    Tottenham
    • Tottenham have only failed to get past the fourth round once in six years, and are aiming to reach the final for the third successive season.
    • The four-times winners and three-times runners-up have lost only one of their last 13 League Cup matches.
    • League Two Grimsby were the last lower division club to knock the Londoners out of the League Cup. The Mariners won a second-round tie 1-0 at Blundell Park in September 2005.

    -----------------

The only reason not to lay heavy is Prestons recent form, i might be picking the over instead because both preston and tottenham have scored and conceded a lot of goals so far, and im not sure yet what lineup tottenham will start with. I'll still put a very small bet on tottenham to win.

I dont know what you mean by heavy anyway, if its a couple of thousand then you may want to find something safer.
