    Gold Cup
Just looking ahead here and i found this interesting info on the costa rica v el salvador match: El Salvador Football Federation (Fesfut) informed the national team and the coaching staff both will set off for Los Angeles on Saturday to play CONCACAF Gold Cup 2009. Carlos de los Cobos' side will make their debut on July 3 against Costa Rica at Home Deport Center stadium. Coach De los Cobos could resign after the tournament following disappointment at the lack of a venue to train ahead of Gold Cup. Moreover, he will not count on three of his key players— Julio Martinez, Rodolfo Zelaya and Christian Castillo— since they have to be in Mexico for their presentation at Leon. Here are the all time matchup numbers for CR against el salvador 36 W 9 D 10 L GD 131:48 The tigerturf at the home depot center is a plus for CR also.

I like the Reggae Boyz tonight, Fuller will be a handful for the Canadian defense, Jamaica has a pretty good defense themselves, its in LA so its a large pitch with more open space which is an advantage for Jamaica who are faster and more physical. Only problem is their midfield, not very experienced, Canada player for player has an edge in this department.

        Kara,

As BostonBruins has suggested, I think a draw is very likely in that Jamaica game. The reggae boys haven't beaten Canada on Canadian soil. Their last meeting in Canada ended in a 1-1 draw. Given that Jamaica are on a 13-game unbeaten run and Canada also seem to be improving, plus they have home advantage, a draw may be a good call.

Wilforth the competition will be played in the US, I think Canada may have more support being closer to America unless there is a Jamaican community in LA?

As a Canadian I can tell you that Jamaica will have a larger support group than Canada in LA.

Oh, I see. A draw still bodes well for me then.

Guadeloupe may spring a surprise tomorrow, they are not heavy underdogs against Panama as the odds suggest, Panama is hardly a team that could be trusted as a huge favorite against any team.

Canada looked good and so did El Salvador, El Salvador could be a team to watch, they seem to have a huge fan base in the US, it was like a home game for them last night. El Salvador are dangerous on the counter attack, they could exploit Jamaica and Canada, I wouldn't be surprised if they got past the group stage.

Didn't Guadeloupe do pretty well in the last Gold Cup?

There something stupid like +500, no team should be +500 against Panama. Also most of Guadeloupe's team play their football in France, they even have Zubar of Marseille and a few other players in the French leagues. They actually have more quality players than Panama, this match is more of a toss-up than a heavy favorite against a huge dog like the books are making it out to be.
