Agreed. I play soccer and there have been multiple times that my team was down by 1 and we were 1 player short due to a red card in 1st half and we came back to score 2 goals in 2nd half a player short to win.

Thanks for the link to the lineups. If I knew Gilardino would start in place of Toni, I wouldn't play Italy to win the 1st half. I'll just let the bet ride but Tony's height would have given the Italians a huge height advantage in the 18-yard box.

Onyewu is 6'4, Spector is 6'1, and Demerit is 6'1... why is everyone posting that Italy has a height advantage.

Italy is playing with a fast squad. I like Giraldino, Iaquinta, Camonarezi up front with Pirlo, Gattuso, De Rossi in midfield. They will create havoc in the slow US defense from the flanks. This is how Costa Rica played last week when they humiliated the US 3-1. I watched the whole of that game.

It's pretty incredible that the US is doing this in spite of the reffing. Italy should already have at least 4 yellows if not 3 yellows and a red. And that challenge by Clark is never a red... ever. The Bornstein yellow was correct and some of the strong challenges in the middle have been well officiated but other than that the reffing has been terrible.

EDIT: And US has been equal to Italy in the first half even being down a man. Landycakes is kind of stepping up in a big game... I'm flabbergasted. He's usually terrible.
