I tallied up my spreadsheet and I bet mostly tennis.. found out soccer was the sport I did best at, by far! 13-4-3 this past week. (And 10-2 in NCAABB, I didn't even know) Not a surprise, it's the sport I know and love the most.
CSKA to beat Villa - I love this CSKA team and think they're making it to the final in a Zenit-like run. CSKA already dominated the away leg, and Villa are taking out 8 first teamers for the return leg! Won't put THAT much on it though, all CSKA need are a 0-0 draw and they may settle for it, but likely not. If Villa scores one early though this will definitely be interesting.
***Biggest Play*** Wolfsburg to beat PSG - Wolfsburg are undefeated in UEFA Cup at home this season. And 9-1 in the Bundesliga. Enough said. They will win this somehow, though I think PSG can score the away goal and pass. Maybe something like 3-1.
Ajax/Fiorentina Under 2.5 - Van Basten himself said they will go for a 0-0 draw.. so if they hold out enough time this one will be a breeze. And we all know what happened in the first leg so they are capable of it, especially at home.
Olympique Marseille pk @ Twente - I have a potential brilliant/insane reason for picking this. If this was a group stage match I would pick Twente without a doubt - they have lost at home only twice since February 08 - to Arsenal in the CL and Ajax in November - but Marseille played so miserable in the home leg that they cannot possibly repeat this performance away. In fact Twente will be on the back leg for this fixture because l'OM will be looking for the win. I truly believe Marseille can pull off a 1-0 and play extra time. If Twente hold them to a draw that's okay too, because they win the battle.. thus the PK. Big warning - this may be stupid of me to pick this, cause this can quickly turn into a rout if Twente go 1-0 up and Marseille gives up. But I don't think that will be the case.
- I was going to play Bordeaux as an away victory but Gorcuff is off the squad, I don't think they want to win this but I can't trust Galatasaray either.
- I don't trust teams with large leads like Hamburg, City. They may be better than their opponents but something like 0-0/1-1/ and 0-2, 1-2 for Hamburg can see them through as well, so they won't be pushing to win as hard as they can.
-I also don't get why they all have to be today, screw the Champions League it isn't as exciting as the UEFA Cup, just a bunch of 1-0 1-1 scores.
