Do you think most players/coaches/refs (in any sport) know or care what the pointspread or moneyine is

Of course some do but I think more coaches and referees know then the players

It seems like the better teams would try harder to beat the spread while the weaker ones just want the game if they're lucky..

NBA refs know a games total obviously

How else can you explain some of the BS calls they make?

Yeah the refs know. The players have the most control of the game though. I wonder would a team be criticized (fined?) if they say they try to beat the spread every game (as favorites)
