Very simple answer here. Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. Those who celebrate it (before the days of commercialism and santa claus) believe that Jesus is the Son of God. Jews do not believe this. Jews believe that Jesus was just another ordinary man. Therefore, they do not celebrate the birth of Christ since in their eyes Christ was no one special.

No sir. Jews believe the Old Testament of the Bible but not the New. They believe that God will appear in human form on Earth one day, they just don't believe it has happened yet (ie. Jesus was a fraud in the eyes of Jews).

As a Jewish teacher once explained to me Jewish people basically consider Christ an excellent example of how to live your life, but he was not the Messiah in their eyes. So while they view him in this regard they don't celebrate Christmas as the coming of the Son of God.

Most jewish people I know are ethnically Jewish, not religiously, so they do celebrate Christmas.

Hannukah it seems to me has not always been a really important holiday in the Jewish religion, but in a heavily Christian society has become more important as something for them during Christmas season.
