Listen pumpkin, until your son begins selling his , I wouldn't worry too much. Tell him to get a job and pay off his gambling debts at a rate of $1 per month. Maybe this episode will teach you to be a better parent.

As far as it being a problem....I lost a little money at first, then I won some and used it to keep beating the house.

I'd suggest you sell your house and cars and put a bet on Federer to win Wimbledon. It's not a sure thing but it's as close to it as you're going to get. If you lose, you can probably collect welfare. With your first check from the welfare department you can buy a monkey. Tell your son to take his new monkey and spank it down on the corner while he holds out a tin cup and holds a sign that says, "will gamble for money". Why dont you show some respect? What you are doing is an addiction. Talk down on my son, do you think you will end differently. Gambling is an illness. You will win some days. But ask yourself how much did you lose.

I can empathize with you and your son's plight but it should be noted that not everyone who gambles suffers from an addiction.

I only risk what is within my means and it has no negative effect on my life or those close to me.

Sportsbetting (which I prefer to call it rather than gambling) is no different than being a golf enthusiast.

People with addictive personalties need to work harder on recognizing their weaknesses and make adult choices to stay away from hobbies that will lead them down the wrong path.
