Take everything you need off of it and just format it. It will wipe absolutely everything off of it and be much faster then before. I try to do it at least once a year on mine.

One trend I've noticed is using google chrome's incognito mode drastically reduces the chances of downloading malware. I'm not sure if others have noticed this as well?

for a possible "quick fix" (scan may take 1 hour or two)

Download SuperAntiSpyware (free edition of course)

                  then defrag

you may also have one or two things constantly running in the backround

I use Glary Utilities. It has a process manager function that tells me what's currently running. (There's another way to check this through your computer).

you also may have conflicting programs running.......anti virus or malware programs clashing

Spybot doesn't get along with everybody

Add more ram pal. It's very easy to do yourself. You can buy it online, and pretty cheap as well. There are guides with pictures online that lead you through the process. It's only a couple of screws on the bottom and a little cover to take off. The ram basically installs itself once you plug it in the slots.
