I moved out officially at 23 (5 years of college). Although, from 18 to 23, I was only home during summer/winter breaks.

a month before my 18th Bday, went away to School and never looked back... Here in Santa Barbara it's not like anywhere else, there are people all over that still live at home that are in their 30s and 40s... I don't understand it but it goes on here like crazy....They all want to inherit the homes...

18 I moved out, but moved back pretty quick and left for good at 19. Then recently my partner and I lived with them for a short period after moving back from interstate.

I can see ppl don't want to move out b/c their parents have a nice home.
If your parents live in a shit hole...get the fukk out.
As for myself, right after high school b/c of college.

I moved out when I was 19. My dad gave me an AK-47 As a departing gift. I go to see my parents everyday, i will move in with my parents or have them move in with me once they can't take care of themselves, all love there, won't be like assholes, who just stick there parents into nursery homes when they get old. Thas not how we desis roll

moved out and bought my first place when I was 24.
4 days after I graduated high school, I flew to Basic Training in Ft. Jackson South Carolina
I thought it might have been a little too soon
I had these very realistic dreams of me being with all my friends in high school and being happy
Then I'd wake up in Basic Training and every morning was a shock-
waking up in a barracks with a bunch of other smelly dudes(just dudes with smelly phuckin feet, a bunch of dudes in a barracks with athletes feet, with their socks off all night) with all those drill sergeants yelling their asses off
I should have waited till the end of the summer till everybody left for college
I missed some good parties-but goddam, I couldn't stand my parents

Am from a small/remote location and at 11 I left my parents to go to a different school a bit further away, though did live with a foster family during that time and got back to visit my parents every 3 weeks or so and during the holidays till I moved back in at 18 when I have finished school.
At 20 I officially moved out when I moved even further away for work, made it back to visit maybe 4 times a year though I did briefly move back in for a couple of months when I came back at 25 until I could move into my own place.
An interesting thing that I have noticed though is that of all the people I grew up with, virtually all of the ones who moved away for school/college before they were 18 have since spent a significant amount of time living away, and a lot still havent come back here yet, whereas the majority of those that stayed here for school are still living here and have never even tried living elsewhere.
For me that definately suggests that spreading your wings as early as possible is a good thing...
