What Diagnostic Software do you guys use on your computer?
Is there such a program that does it all...Fixing start-up problems, diagnose and clean malware, adware, scareware. Clean & repair registry errors. Tune-up and maintain my computer system for optimum performance.

Heres a list of free programs I found on download.com. CCleaner is the most downloaded program there with a 5 star Editors & 4.5 Users rating.

    *MycleanPC
    *Spybot S&D
    *Ad-Aware Free
    *Advanced SystemCare Free
    *CCleaner
    *Wise Disk Cleaner Free

I have used Advanced SystemCare Free. I run the program, It finds all of this so-called bad stuff, so I hit Fix. And it only fixes a small % of the problems and if I want all of it taken care of I have to upgrade to the Pro version.

Whats your opinion on these programs?

Just get Norton 360 it handles just about everything and runs in the background when you're not using the computer. I got it for my parents who know nothing about computers and it has kept them safe and the PC running smooth the last few years. Set it and forget it.

You don't need anything if you are smart about what sites you go too. I don't have anything on my laptop and it's just fine.

I use CCleaner, Spybot S&D, Avast and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Avast does most of the work keeping the bad stuff off my PC. I use Spybot and Malwarebytes to double check and catch anything that might have been missed, which isn't much. CCleaner to take out old junk I don't need anymore, cleans and repairs registry errors as well.

I have always used and liked Tuneup Utilities to automatically fix problems/clean-up the computer. Great piece of software and alot of people use it. For anti-virus software Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes.

I think this is head and shoulders above Ad-aware and Spybot. For antivirus, I have had good luck with the 100% free version of avast! Both of these programs are completely free and work well. No annoying shareware reminders or any of that crap.

Avast, Avira, AVG freeware are all OK, but miss some of the spyware/malware junk. Malwarebytes has been good for me, and the Combofix if you actually get a nasty onfection that is hard to clean.
