hate to break it to you taylor, but NO neighborhood in alabama is among the wealthiest neighborhoods in america unless you include rankings below the top 1000 in your "wealthiest neighborhood list".

houses like that around here, that were priced in the $900k-$1m range, are hitting the auction block for $400-500k.

i'm in the same boat with a house too big and too expensive, but just because the price used to be $900k doesn't mean it's a bargain at $650k.
the $650k will cost someone about $5k/month with mortgage/taxes/maintenance - you can rent somewhere awfully nice with indoor pool/fitness/etc for way less than 1/2 of that.
