I think it would be fun to try.

Has anyone here ever done it? If you have, what's it like? Is it hard to do the first time? And how much does it usually cost?

I have bungee jumped but yet to skydive. I will definitely do it before I get too old.

I did have a friend skydive. He did a tandem jump with so that he didn't have to take a lot of instructional classes. Plus it was cheaper. He said it was a blast.

That site has pricing info and info about classes and stuff if you want to get an idea about time and prices. Of course, I don't know if prices vary a lot throughout the country.

Practice wind tunnel looks like tons of fun, but seen a video of a freefaller spinning superfast, still like to do it someday.

i did it. i had a guy strapped to my back..only a few hours of instruction, not what i thought it would be

Well worth it. You can do the tandem, or on a weekend course you can do solo jumps. Try get a place that will allow you to do multiple solo jumps, each extra one doesn't cost much and you'll want to do many :-)

For me, or really for my wife and kids, that is $1,000,000... poof, gone. Not worth it to sky dive.

As my grandfather said - only 2 things fall out of the sky... bird shit and fools.

I have a horrible fear of heights, but I did the tandem one in college anyway. I remember it being about $150 for a few hours of instruction then one jump. It was fun, worth the $$$ (pretty inexpensive considering), and felt completely safe pretty much the whole time. Feels more like a powerful fan on you then falling really, and the parachute part is fun too. Definitely should give it a try IMO.

I have always always wanted to try it, but I can't now because my Back is so f'd up, and obviously the jerk you get when you open your shoot would just kill it.
