As far as greatest album of all time, I can't really offer an opinion. However, I will throw out there that my FAVORITE album of all-time (and one could probably argue it as ONE of the best (rap) albums) is Get Rich or Die Tryin'...full of jams.
Honorable mention is Best of T-Crack Vol. 1

get rich or die trying is decent but has no business in any top 25 or top 50 list

Things Fall Apart- The Roots
Chronic 2001- Dre
Illmatic/Stillmatic
Nope...broaden your horizons if you think that's the best one. Most overrated more like it.

Hahaha. Maybe top 5 rap albums. One of the few that you can listen to every song without wanting to skip.

Try listening to some real music. Find someone who plays an instrument of some sort.

I haven't really listened to rap since I was 17...about the time it was cool for everyone to do so. Eventually, people grew up and learned to appreciate other forms of music. I'm sure there are still some that failed to get the memo..

edit: best RAP album
I am the foremost rap expert on the entire internet. With that being said I rarely come across anybody that really knows what they are talking about when it comes to rap. Rap talk is to some extent subjective but the top albums of all time are not subjective. Illmatic is a top 10 all time rap album.
I think Nas took his whole life to write Illmatic because every album he came out with after that were some of the worst albums I've ever listened to.
It's like from age 4 to 18 Nas wrote Illmatic, then had to come up with another album by the time he was 19. I don't know his exact age but you get what I mean.
But like all great rap albums what fuels this beast of an album is the production. The lyrics are there too but the beats are sick. Some of the best I've ever heard.

Tupac and Biggie are the most over rated rappers to ever live. Biggie had much better music than Tupac but still Biggie is not an all time great by any means.
Canuck if you are from Canada you are surely not any kind of expert in rap. I grew up in 90% black schools with kids banging on tables for beats.

You sound like you know a lot about rap. So I won't comepletely disrespect your whole shit. But, I will give you a chance to make 1 small correction. Perhaps you forgot that his 2nd album, "it was written" was a great album. Arguablly better than illmatic. I'm sure many others will agree. Hottest thing out at the time. Jay-z dropped his first album at the same "it was written came out". Huge marketting blunder on jay-z's part. Nas destroyed him in record sales. That was a great classic album to. I'm sure after you think things over, you will agreee. Nas's album failures came from 3 on.
