    Interesting article on Vegas Housing
I guess you need to pick your spot for buying a place in Vegas, as you can probably get a nice 2nd place. Thankfully I was renting, some really got pasted:

Crazy to see some of those prices.. A pile of crap is still 650k in this area... used to be around 1.1 for the same home..

I bought a condo out here in the past year.
2br 2 bath on Las Vegas blvd- basically
just close to southpoint for $93k
the condo across the hall and 3 others on my floor
have foreclosure signs on them saying they went for
            $350-375k

city seems to be alive and vibrant. humans are resilient. i've survived just fine the last decade. any city has problems. at least we dont have rats as big as camels.

cost of living is cheap in vegas. which is a good thing. unless you are on the strip.

tourism is at a high. its just they are not spending as much. hotels are cheaper also. so a good time to visit. you can get the slot takes from clark county.

seems about as good as it always has been. i still see all the standard games in the casino. there are some new ones. but i suppose we should just keep what we had in 1907. and forget the advancement.

It really is amazing to see the decline of a lot of residential areas around Vegas here. I moved off of a road that had 4 houses of like 16 that were lived in and 2 of those were PACKED with illegals. It was a nice neighborhood, too. Just looking at 'foreclosure' data on my neighborhood years ago, it was shocking. It was a ghost town. The job market here just keeps getting worse and worse, too. Well, unless you want to work for Walmart or Starbucks. GL trying to live off of that.
