If you have a laptop you are pleased with, you shouldn't even consider IPad...just fashion accessory...

If you travel a lot and need something smaller than a laptop it is worth it. I ordered an iPad2 to take on the road with me for portability.

theres the cool, gotta have it factor...but unless you would constantly use it on the road, worthless for home use since you have a laptop.

iPad is a toy. A very cool toy, but a toy nevertheless. A lot of people are spending $600 for what ends up being not much more than an email reader.

I have the iphone which is pretty cool, but as kiln mentioned pretty much a toy nonetheless. I thought about an ipad but i dont like typing on the screen. i always fat finger it on my phone.

It's not worth it to buy at all.

Apple is a joke, they always release a first generation product w/ obvious flaws, and then bring the next thing out in less than a year with upgrades that should have been available the first time.

There is zero reason that the Ipad 1 wasn't thinner, faster and packaged with a camera...other than to sucker more people in with the Ipad 2.

You need to decide if you have a use for it. I heard of people that like to use it in the living room to surf while watching tv. I have a laptop in my living room so I wouldn't need it in that case.

Pricing jobs for landscaping and construction would have been nice to have larger pictures to display. I used my phone a few times but it makes it harder because of size.

Even for that use I would go with another brand myself. Maybe a Playbook or the Zoom.

Resolution still not high enough. 1024*768 doesn't display enough of a website.

That's why I like the look of some of the Android tablets, 1280*800 displays. Better for video also, you get 720p at 1:1. They need more apps and to smooth out some OS worries, but not far away now imo.

I have an iPad.

Bit of a waste of money. Its only real use for me is for work, when I want all my documents and emails on the go.

It does what it is advertised to do. If you can picture yourself using it regularly (without the need to convince yourself that you are going to take up reading or that you actually enjoy typing emails on a flat surface that is rather uncomfortable), then get one.

I'm not sure there are many people out there who actually need an iPad and would use one regularly.

Yes. Can finally justify buying one.
There are a lot of work apps that I can use that are not so practical on a laptop.

I was hoping that apple would release a Macbook Pro Tablet. That would be sweet.

It is less heavy and much more portable than notebook, but not as good. I cannot imagine taking notebook with me everywhere while ipad I could. Good for surfing, reading mails, placing bets when not at home, reviewing photos on a larger screen etc. I want one but I will have to wait for price to drop...

I was on the Apple website yesterday and all IPads are taking 4-5 weeks to ship.
