Japan - "operating on the presumption of meltdowns"

Not just one - but two of 'em.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano told reporters there is a "possibility" of a meltdown at the plant's No. 1 reactor, adding, "It is inside the reactor. We can't see." He then added that authorities are also "assuming the possibility of a meltdown" at the facility's No. 3 reactor.

    "possibility".

we also saw ridiculous maps of "possible" radiation earlier today that if true, would mean 50% of Seattle would be hunched over puking their lunch in 6 days too.

Last I heard they had contained it by flooding the reactor with seawater. Trashes the reactor, but it was due for shutdown soon anyway so they weren't too bothered.

The maps were made up ..

this is from the horses mouth - the only reason they are saying "possible" is because they can't see it to confirm it - they are assuming given all info they have that it probably has happened already at reactor 1 - and that it is likely at reactor 3.

Awful thing to happen to such decent people of Japan. It's good that the disaster response has be immediate with rescuers and food supplies. These people are decimated, they need every possible bit of help the world can give them.

Seems like Japan is trying their best not to admit how bad and what is going on with the Nuclear reactors.

Need to dump several tankers with liquid nitrogen on top of the reactor to cool it down.

That only works when you're trying to stop the Terminator.
