I'm a supervisor in a collections office. We have to have 4 managers/supervisors in our department because of how high the workload is. One of the supervisors have been on maternity leave for 6 weeks, and upper management never trained someone to fill in for her while she was gone. The 4th supervisor doesn't come back for another 2 1/2 weeks, and the other 3 of us feel like we're ready to kill. Any ideas on how I can relieve this stress for the next couple of weeks?

#3exercise, masturbation, and I think one that doesn't get mentioned a lot is watch comedy. It could be stand-up or your favorite sitcom. Anything that makes you laugh will quickly eliminate stress.Comment -

#6Exersex is prolly the best in my mind. Turn off all your means of communication and unplug after work, have a couple beverages, and do something you enjoy. Also smoke a marijuana cigarette, depending on where you live.Comment -

#10I have experience quite a bit of stress in my life. These are some of the things that have helped:
1)Exercise
Exercise is best because it raises serotonin levels which in theory raise dopamine levels. Depending on how intense you work out you can also release endorphins which will give you a sense of control that can in turn help you deal with the stress better since you seem more in control.
Barring that there are these but they do not work as well:
2)Controlled breathing
Breathe in for 5 seconds, Hold breath for 5 seconds, exhale for 5 seconds. Repeat cycle as necessary but usually between 10-20 are sufficient. Fill diaphragm when doing these.
3) Stretching
There are a ton of exercises out there many of which can be done in an office.
I've also tried meditation but it has not helped me. I'm skeptical about it overall and think most of the benefits are attributable to placebo effect. If you are more "spiritual" I think you will get greater benefit but I am not so I receive none.Comment -

#11first and foremost...
Sex. Go get you some pussy man... nothing more relaxing than that.
Secondly, exercise.
A good brisk walk or jog... clears the lungs, gets your endorphines going, clears your mind.Comment -

#19the best cure for stress is not to stress yourself - what i mean by that - figure out ways of easing your job. Shortcuts so to speak. Getting mad or dizzy or nervous don't help the situation anyway. See where your stress comes from yelling at employees - don't do that - disorganization - find ways to assign some of your unimportant duties and responsibilities on your employees - that's what I used to do.Comment -

#20anytime i get pissed at work i just step back and think, "it's just a job" and feel much better. do what you can do. one pesron can only do so much quality work. if the bosses refuse to replace the departed and/or hire quality replacements it is their fault. they may blame the subordinates, but if you go to them and speak in a calm rational manner they may come around and give you the assistance you need.Comment -
