The Saloon is a great idea.

The bottom line is this: if advertisers pay for spots in a sports-oriented subforum, and you have people talking about Obama this, and boobs that, and Heineken this, then you are cheating your business partners. Plain and simple. The topics needed to be taken out of Players Talk.

If people want the Saloon to get Players Talk traffic, the use the damn thing.

SBR John, why even toy with the idea that you want the inmates to run the asylum? Don't let people who are attention-deprived sway you from your sound decision.

For every thread complaining the Saloon exists there is one that there is too much random stuff in Players Talk.

Everyone wants to post to the big audience in PT but if we aren't careful that audience will change. There has to be a line as to what goes in the sports bettors' main forum.

I notice that slowly, yet surely,, Bateman is slowing down. 80% of his threads are moved, thus less traffic... so he has no reason to keep coming back. For that, I am grateful for The Saloon.
