Had my left ear pierced when I was 17, was cool at the time for guys. Friend did it, she was very much an amateur though she thought of herself as pro. She must have did something wrong because the stinging sensation didn't subside for quite some time. Not an infection, just an annoying sting.

Not the horror story you're looking for Bates, just something I wouldn't have had done given a second chance.

my wife got both nips done. one got infected. she took them both out. we both had our tongues pierced. i had mine pierced before everyone and their moms got theirs pierced (i took mine out when everyone started getting it). My wife actually had two piercings in her tongue. She had a stud/stem where everyone else has it and she also had a hoop at the tip of her tongue.

How bad did the infection get? Didn't the tongue piercings chip your teeth?

she noticed the infection when it was starting. she tried to clean it extra good for awhile (even though she cleaned it every day), but then she just gave up and took it out. then it just got better.

The dentist told her the tongue piercing was rubbing/grinding at the inside of her top front teeth so she finally ended up taking them out.
