#2They take that Auburn/Alabama rivalry very seriously down there, FBI afraid it will probably escalate if they don't do something now.Comment -

#3you know it's not trees. it's their game trees it's different. that's like calling niagra falls just water. if terrorists blew up that waterfall they'd get in big trouble, not just for blowing up some rocks and water, but for blowing up an important thingComment -

#5I can see the compensation to be paid by the perp in the neighborhood of 50k. Tree transplants can be costly. But 50k to hold the man in jail....pffft People that brutally abuse animals dont get that bailComment -

#15Eh, Texas Aggies did this 35+ years ago to Rice's victory tree. Well, not exactly, the Ags didn't poison the tree, just cut it down in retaliation for the MOB goose-stepping and giving the 'heil hitler' arm movement during a halftime show. Each time I see a military jet fly over out here, I drop to me knees and thank the lord there's a much better chance that an Aggie is on the stick than a Rice Owl.Comment -

#28Yeah, whats fukked about it is that a couple of them were 130+ years old, it's not like you can just replace them. Tradition like that is amazing and is what makes college football great, to do what this guy did is simply classless, and looks horrible on all the Bama fans. In a related story, I read this guy named his daughter Crimson and his son Bear, no joke. I think it's fukked up, and I'm not a fan of any team in the SEC.

#29I'm a Bama grad and also think this took it a little too far....but that being said....we live about half an hour from Auburn now and I've seen, on more than one occasion, AU students pissing on these same trees at 2am on the weekends...probably not out of disrespect but just for being clueless idiots. Let someone try that at Denny Chimes or the Walk of Champions in T-Town.
I'll admit...driving through Auburn now and seeing the Natl Champ billboards is gut wrenching to me....hoping for some good straight line winds this spring! and the huge board with Cam Newton's mug plastered on it....somebody's gonna unhinge that thing before next season I bet.Comment -

#31Trees mean nothing to college football, as much as college football means nothing to the trees.
Humans are the ones who are concerned with the tree, not the sport or the ball itself.

#32I'm surprised no one has mentioned how stupid this guy is for calling into the radio station to brag about it. No one would have known until the trees starting dieing and how would anyone know who did it? I'm not promoting what he did, but at least keep your fuking mouth shut once its done.Comment -
