It's Xmas, things are slow, there's not much to talk about so a certain someone... ahem JJ... started a thread about me. Now other people jump on board and so it's been going on for a few days. It'll die down as it always does and then I'll slink back to the tennis forum when the Aussie Open starts. A few guys like to say I'm an attention whore but they fail to accept I'm not the one starting these threads. And what does attention from total random strangers on the Internet equate to anyway? Not really wet panty inducing kind of stuff.

It's sappy but it's true - I just really enjoy the wit and insight from 99.9% of the guys on here. If I have to cop some shit in order to participate, so be it. No one's hurting me as long as they're not hurting my son. Other than that, it's just all fun and games. Brother/sister kind of stuff.

Well that's not quite accurate. Several people on this forum have met me but the majority of them are doing their own thing in the sub forums and don't venture into the scary world of PT. I'm actually using the laptop of a poster now after mine was fried and the iPhone of another after my son chewed my last one to death.

I'm willing to meet/talk to/befriend anyone at any time and have done so with those who came to see my son in hospital, and several veteran posters on here, etc. And I'll do the same when I'm back in North America although I'll obviously continue to take precautions with that kind of stuff until I get to know someone quite well. But at the end of the day I'm just a person who happens to gamble extensively and knows a bit about a few sports but hasn't found a Mommy Group specialising in Team Totals yet.

Every time anyone's talked to me on the phone they've overcome the other nonsense very quickly. It's just that when things are slow on here, my name seems to get thrown into the ring and I don't mind. I don't thrive on it as dmtrader and a few others have suggested but I'll definitely play along. Why not? Better than solely reading threads about people going all in with their locks of the year and busting out, at least in my eyes.
