RIP. He was a funny guy.

I thought he looked old last few times I saw him.

Had a very funny bit on Curb where he saw a Knick forward nude in the locker-room.

RIP. Lots of hard living but managed to sober up for the back half of his life.

I thought he was good on Curb too - what's kind of unique about that show is how it blends fiction with reality. Larry David is Larry David - on camera or not. His agent on curb is an actor.

And then these two will go out with two friends for lunch, Richard Lewis - who is Richard Lewis in real life - and Funkhouser, who is (was) somebody else in real life. And they pull it off so naturally. And I'd bet Richard Lewis out to lunch with Larry David in real life was practically the same thing we've seen on the show.

    RIP, Richard!

Enjoyed the intelligent, neurotic humor of Richard Lewis out of the box.
Parkinson's hit him pretty fast and was problematic with his walking the last two years.
    ---
What did Larry David say about Richard Lewis's death?

“Richard and I were born three days apart in the same hospital and for most of my life he's been like a brother to me,” David said in the statement. “He had that rare combination of being the funniest person and also the sweetest. But today he made me sob and for that I'll never forgive him.”

    Rest In Peace Richard

He had an unusual delivery. That's for sure. I'd say that he was shooting for a self-deprecating style.

Good one, 19. Yes, their performance on that show was so seamless. As if they'd be doing the same thing, even if the cameras were off.

If I had a quarter for every time he touched his fingers to his forehead I'd be a trillionairre.

I think he was the most neurotic of them all. He was alright with some funny bits but I remember him more of a germophobe and chronic worrier.
