    Debt Ceiling
I find it very difficult to believe that there aren't at least 5 out of the 222 Republican members of the House sane enough to baulk at forcing a catastrophic default.

In another HUGE embarrassment for Kevin McCarthy a new poll finds Americans STRONGLY support President Biden’s position on avoiding a default crisis.

An astounding 58% of the American population believes that Congress should handle 1) the issue of paying its debts to avoid default and 2) debates on federal spending as DISTINCT matters.

That means 3/5 Americans do NOT support Republicans using threats of default as a political bargaining chip.

The Washington Post/ABC poll also found only 26% of Americans agree with Republicans who say Biden should agree to spending cuts before Congress pays its debt.

Americans DO NOT support Kevin McCarthy or his GOP created default crisis.

      Fake news.

It's a compromise and of course Biden doesn't want one, even though he say's he does..

Cut spending, raise the debt ceiling. What so difficult.?.

The debt is money we all ready owe, we need to pay those bills.
Compromise on spending can be done when you negotiate the Budget.
If the USA defaults on its dept, I hope everyone in office gets voted out, this should have already been taking care of.

His budget has already cut spending and will reduce deficits by almost $3T over the next decade.

Maybe by 'not' raising the debt limit will force our government to live within its means -- and that will mean a LOT more spending cuts than McCarthy has offered ...

For once let's just force the government to live within its means -- NO debt limit increase - Biden and Dems will only spend it ----STAND FIRM -- THERE WILL BE NO DEFAULTS And do not listen to Yellen - her time in office is transitory and she is just a Biden puppet.

The Biden administration is "living within it's means" - did you not look at the Budget?
The current debts which need paying are the result of PAST spending and clearly down to the previous administration blowing the deficit and spiralling the national debt principally through their large tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy.

You choose to believe the lies you are told. No one is holding a gun to your head.

Hareeballs posts nonsense, has been doing so forever and his lies have been debunked so much so that his only course of action is to block everyone who does so. He’s like Brian Stelter and CNN. He thinks he’s smart, he constantly tells everyone how smart he is but only dumb people buy what he’s selling.

Remember when Jim Acosta went to the border wall and while he was live, he walked along the wall telling his audience how there are no illegals to be found. It’s all quiet. He thought he was being clever but reasonable people immediately understood how utterly stupid he is. The point is, virtually everything hareeballs says is a lie and only a fool believes otherwise.

Joe Biden inked this deal in a 90 minute, one-on-one, negotiation with Kevin McCarthy.

That's the type of thing that says a lot more about mental competence than someone with a lifelong stutter flubbing a word every now and then.

First of all... if you're an intelligent President to begin with... you'd cut this debt faster than that... nearly 50% faster. Furthermore, when you have "long term" plans to pay a debt back... for example 10 years... that's 10 years of life... things pop up and you have to go BACK INTO DEBT. We won't get OUT OF DEBT unless you have a SMART BUSINESS MAN making the right moves. Not a politician in which he's in everyone's pocket.

You mean like the budgets under TFG and his predecessor Rs?

All of whom increased National debt to appease their wealthy donors demanding tax cuts.

But what does the lies or any of your post, have to do with paying the bills that the USA already has?

I'm not being any kind of way with this. Yes, as a country the books are not balanced, and with the exception of a few years, over many decades we have spent more than we have brought in and need to find ways to get the books to balance. The overspending in those many years still have to be paid for.

revenue has never been a problem. over spending has.
This is meaningless. There are 30 million more Americans now than in 2009. Revenues go up every year with population, so do our outlays. The number to look at is the deficit, which grew under Trump because he decreased tax revenue.

You know this, but you're a well know liar. Which is why you have to call other "liars".. Right out of the Trump playbook.
