The All-Time Darwin Award goes to.....

    Mark Gietzen, of Witchita, Kansas

Mr. Gietzen died on Tuesday when his Cessna 172 airplane crashed in Nebraska. He flew the airplane despite knowing that it needed necessary repairs and improvements. He was short on cash, though. Why, you ask? Because he had just spent $120,000 to fund a recount of an anti-abortion referendum in Kansas. You see, Kansas voters decided that they did not want to outlaw abortion in Kansas. They must have counted wrong, Gietzen said! The measure had been defeated 59-41%. Sure enough, the recount confirmed the vote tally.

    So long, sucka!
