I've posted many times that the liberal vs. conservative, or dem vs republican debate is low on the totem pole. Most don't realize the goal of each side is the same. Yet that's the realm they swim around in for political discourse, as if it matters.
Most have no clue there is a totem pole anymore. Times have changed, we all agree, but recent changes have all but eliminated intelligent political discussion across the nation and planet. For the most part it's been replaced with name calling and outlandish behavior as distraction.
It's like a never ending comedy skit show anymore.
If you look closely, you'll see that "conservatives" will abandon their principles for failed political debate (especially at SBR) and unfortunately the "liberals" don't really maintain any principles, forcing them into a circular pattern. They sometimes have them, they just don't maintain them.
For those governing, it's all about getting and keeping power. With pretty much any means to justify that end. I wonder if the nex decade or so brings a more subtle political presence, or if it just gets worse.
