The Fat Albert cartoon didn't have any other race other than Black (though the storyline was of ghetto Blacks, which is what Bill Cosby wanted since it was about his childhood).

The Jackson 5 had their own cartoon.

Heckle & Jeckle were black magpies, though one had an east-coast "wise guy" accent, but the other spoke intelligently.

Ernie is brown and Bert is yellow (though not with an Asian accent)

Scooby Doo was a brown dog, and Daffy Duck was a black duck.

Johnny Quest's BFF (Hadji) was Indian.

Just for gigles y'all so don't get thrown, Spridle had a monkey, and Captain Caveman was brown and had a big nose!!!

Pete Jones of the Hardy Boys Mystery Series-(1969)- Pete Jones was the first positive African-American animated character in the modern African-American animation era. Not much is known about Pete except he provided the percussions to the Hardy Boys music.

and the punch-line was:

Good Question Nicky... Never really thought about it! Maybe no one knew how to draw a black character! I don't think that a black mother would tell her little ones to stop watching cartoons if they just saw all white ones. I think unfortunitly some white mothers might if their kids saw black cartoons! Probably a ratings thing. They figured if it was not broke... don't fix it by trying out black characters! Just my thoughts... no fact to that!

and you know what's incredible.. 2 days ago i am watching flintstones and fred and barney were in the audience at the water buffalo meeting.. i paused it and searched for 34 seconds and tried to find 1 black guy in the audience..and guess what.. out of 196 different water buffaloes in the audience, not 1 was black..

maybe Hanna Barbera the creator hated blacks or his wife cheated on him with a black guy and she's a black lover and he hated this, so he refused to put them in his 3 cartoons he created. jetsons, flintstones and bugs bunny..and the only one he puts in is a murderer with a gun.. who knows, just guessing.

Or maybe Bedrock did not allow blacks in their town.
