Nashy, if you like the early Peter Gabriel solo work, check out this song. Not a popular song, not too many people know about it. Awesome song IMHO:

My goodness gracious, I forgot how epic this tune is.

This is so long ago. A lifetime ago, really.

People sometimes bag on Peter Gabriel looking old now. Well, that was almost 50 years ago. He really looks un-recognizable to me in the early photos.

Genesis as a group was so different on the early albums. To their credit, they still sounded very good in the early 80s.

I was a fan of the early Peter Gabriel solo work. His voice sounded so unique. Great stuff, and then he went Pop.

I had no idea where to put this, but it's in keeping with his Twitter activity, only about 4 or 5 a year. Check some classic replies, like the one from Steve Martin: "now at goalie position, A Complete Unknown"

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">I ran into one of the Buffalo Sabres in the elevator at the Prague hotel. They were in town to play the New Jersey Devils. He invited me to the game but I was performing that night.</p>&mdash; Bob Dylan (@bobdylan) <a href="https://twitter.com/bobdylan/status/1844127739626078492?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw" >October 9, 2024</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Offering to the thread: I'm not really a Bob Dylan guy, but I like a handful of his songs, Isis absolutely one of them.

    Chucky?

    Once bitten twice shy.
Ian Hunter is the only Brit that doesn't lose the accent when singing.

Sweet was voted second most underrated band of the 70's.

How great is this song intro?

I just read on one of those music trades that the three most underrated bands of the 70's were Thin Lizzy, Sweet, and one of my all-time favorites, Mott The Hoople.

Ian Hunter had the hooks, the looks, he was as real a rock star as there ever was one.

David Bowie wrote this, Ian Hunter sung it, and Mott backed it up.
You know what's better than Bowie and Hunter?
McCartney and Lennon that's about it.

    My favorite.
If you don't like this, you just might not like rock and/or roll.

This song is genius on so many levels.

Now, I go down to Speaker's Corner, I'm thunderstruck
They got free speech tourists, police in trucks
Two men say they're Jesus, one of them must be wrong
    There's a protest singer, he's singing a protest song

He says, "They wanna have a war, keep their factories
They wanna have a war to keep us on our knees
They wanna have a war to stop us buying Japanese
They wanna have a war to stop industrial disease

They're pointing out the enemy to keep you deaf and blind
They wanna sap your energy, incarcerate your mind
Give ya "Rule Britannia", gassy beer, page three
Two weeks in EspaƱa and Sunday striptease"
Meanwhile, the first Jesus says "I'll cure it soon
Abolish Monday mornings and Friday afternoons"
The other one's out on hunger strike, he's dying by degrees
How come Jesus gets industrial disease?
