The only time I ever hear about him is when east coasters are waxing poetic about him...I don't get it but to each their own.
    Makes complete sense to me.

"London Calling" was the greatest album of the 70's.
I stand by that statement, there was nothing Joe Strummer couldn't do musically.
Nobody did 'combat rock' better than The Clash, they invented it.

    1) They were a great band. It's sometimes said that "The Clash were the only band that ever mattered."

    2) I know they were vocal on current events. In that way, they were a voice of the people.

    3) Early Clash sounded fantastic. But I sensed that it was more attitude than sound.

    4) I know that Mick Jones departed. Don't think they were the same after Mick left.

    5) The later Clash albums weren't too well-received. But that's not atypical for the cycle of a band.

Joe Strummer died at an early age. That's life.

What most people don't realize is this song has been constantly kicking ass for the past five decades.
    It's a constant, like oxygen.

Warren G and Nate Dogg sampled this track in "Regulate"...

Michael McD has got a lot of soul no doubt
