In bold, what you describe is exactly what Mr. Trump wanted Bill Barr to do, and he expected him to do it with no question ask, because he had done it that way since taking the job. When you weaponized the DOJ and the FBI against your political opponents using unlimited taxpayer dollars, its tyranny. Plain and simple.
Imagine the Left's reaction if things happened the opposite of what really happened the last few years. Let's look a couple examples.
Imagine if Trump paid for a phony Russian dossier to push a lie that Hillary colluded with Russia? Imagine if Fox News reported this lie as fact 24/7 for nearly 3 full years? Imagine the FBI offering 1 million dollars to the British spy to lie and say the dossier was authentic? Imagine if the FBI forged documents to deceive the FISA court in order to obtain a warrant to spy on Hillary's campaign with Trump? Imagine if Jim Jordan repeatedly said he saw evidence of Hillary's collusion with Russia but never showed any? Imagine if the MSM pushed a narrative that Hillary liked to pee on Russian hookers, there's a video tape of it and they will release it soon but never did? Imagine if Fox News claimed Hillary made fun of a reporter's disability and called neo Nazi's in Charlottesville "very fine people"? Imagine if the republicans spent tens of millions upon tens of millions of taxpayer dollars to prosecute Hillary's political supporters and allies, tying them up in court and financially ruining them with lawyer fees? Imagine if Trump had an illegal server in a basement bathroom somewhere and deleted 33,000 emails and had his staff smash his devices with hammers after getting an FBI subpoena to turn them all over? Imagine if the AG told teh FBI to change it from an "investigation" to a "matter"? Imagine if the republicans spent millions of taxpayer $ impeaching Hillary for a call to the Ukraine wondering what the fukk is Trump's son is doing on the board of an energy company making $83,000 a month and Pence having the Ukrainian lead prosecutor, looking into corruption, fired or they wouldn't get a billion dollars from the USA taxpayer? Imagine the republicans spent millions of taxpayer $ impeaching Hillary, who isn't even president anymore, for inciting violence when all she did was ask her supporters to march peacefully to the Capitol? Imagine the republicans forming a committee to look into a riot that happened at the Capitol and only invited 2 Hillary hating democrats on the committee and withheld video from the public including evidence which exonerated a convicted rioter who never did anything violent that day? Imagine Hillary offering thousands of National Guards troops to protect the Capitol but McConnell declined? Imagine finding out the FBI had operatives in the crowd that day? Imagine if Fox News called riots across America in 2020 "mostly peaceful" while buildings were literally on fire in the background? Imagine if Eric or Don jr. forgot a laptop at a repair shop which contained evidence of secret deals with China, them smoking crack with hookers, paying 10% to their father from the deals and business associates confirmed these secret meetings and deals? Imagine if 51 intelligence officials all signed a letter lying that Eric's laptop was Russian disinformation? Imagine if big tech colluded to block and suppress anyone from sharing the laptop story, including suspending the NYT Twitter page unless they removed the story? Imagine if Facebook admitted that the FBI warned them that the laptop story was about to be made public, so they suppressed it? Imagine big tech colluded to prevent the Parlar app from being downloaded because they said they would share the laptop story?
