12 teens beat man in ‘animalistic’ attack outside gas station, Ohio officials say

A man sitting outside an Ohio gas station was beaten by a group of 12 teenagers in a brutal and unprovoked attack, Cleveland officials say.
The entire incident happened over the course of five minutes, O’Malley said. The juveniles got into the stolen cars and drove away.
However, some of the group were arrested within two hours thanks to a 911 call, officials said. Police said they found the teens inside a house they had broken into and took them into custody.
Of the 12 arrested, all were between 12 and 16 years old, Cleveland Police Chief Wayne Drummond said.

Tesla was said to be so swamped with complaints about driving ranges that it created a secret team to cancel owners' service appointments

    • Tesla exaggerated the driving range of its vehicles for years, Reuters reported.
    • To suppress complaints, the EV maker created a secret team to cancel appointments, the report said.
    • The cars often did not need to be repaired and the performance had merely been overstated, it added.

Tesla exaggerated the driving range of its EVs for years, an investigation from Reuters found.
The report, which cited a source familiar with an early design of Tesla software, said the EV maker rigged the range-estimating software on the cars' dashboards. Instead of displaying the true driving range, the software provided a "rosy" projection of how far cars could drive before needing to be recharged, the report said.
The distance EVs can travel before needing to be recharged is one of the main disadvantages the cars face in comparison with gas vehicles.
One unnamed source told Reuters the order to inflate the driving range displayed on the cars was given by Tesla's CEO Elon Musk about 10 years ago.
As a result, the company was inundated with complaints and service appointments from drivers who expected a longer driving range, several sources told Reuters.

To suppress the volume of these complaints the automaker created a secret "Diversion Team" in Las Vegas to cancel appointments, Reuters reported, citing sources familiar with the matter.
