    SO Car overheating problem fixed
got screwed over by latinos at yard barely speak any english asked the mechanic doing work to get hose and flush system out. HE removed the hose drained it out etc then took out the smaller outer thermostat it was bad seal ring broken put an old rubber one on it from other car puts back in ...

no good grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr total cost parts and them $400

so yesterday mechanic that works on his own comes to me after he done work at 4:15 pm well that old thermostat had the sealer broken stuck in the spring and when he took off the inner one no thermostat was there.???

drove 7 blocks to shoprite to buy gal of antifreeze thier brand full high temp not that 50-50 $17 one thiers only $12.95

so the temp gauge never moved stuck on cold driving there and no heat at all said move fast we have not enough collant in system put it running car to operating temp barely warm heat then rembered has to be pushed through step on gass rev engine boom heat kept it running for 15 mins drove home yeahhhhhh temp gauge dropped down below Center

SO parts cost $62 he cost $52 and get this the bums at yard didnt tighten battery terminals they just popped off

check system at autozone showed batter voltage low

I want to go back there and tell them they almost destroyed my car because driving it overheating can blow head gasket engine block is aluminum can warp it.

and get this price diff for thermos at autozone $120.87 with tax advance $62 lil less than pep boys who only said thats all i have is one it shows no good i told him these cars have two.

    bye bye ...

Other pepboys on phone said yes your right there are 2 but i dont have in stock so i said no good need today cant wait for you to order in... IT depends on you get at parts counter before you got parts and they walked to front where cashier is.

SO before driving today mechanic said check it after cool down make sure radiator is full.

I said yes thanks i remember now having to do that before.

SO now i use this guy to put brakes on car front that should cost no more than $100 parts and pay him.

need oil change way over due 1000 miles over but car was daed 2.5 months oct through to dec so not much driving on old oil and it's still jst drk brown love slick 50 only $18 now car runs cooler

    better milage also.

never had this problem other car brands one thermostat and maybe if not that water pump which is costly pump cost $55 reapair $175

so next car i buy making sure i can tune it up as easy as this lil 4 cyl and find out about colling system

if you have older car get the drive pulleys checked beacaue thats what caused my problem it broke the belt and it busted the tensioner too.

    cost all 3 was $109

no good had to get system power flush yesterday took me forever to remove drain plug and nothing came out that proved rad was clogged

so took off hose at top left and ran my hose through it ... but had trouble putting that drain plug back in. Found out you need to push hard then twist couldnt get enough force by hand so lil tap on vice grips it went in.

SO after adding just clear wter i idled the car for like 40 mins gauge never even went up to center it stayed like 4 lines below ..

YES i cheered freezing cold from water hands even with gloves on ..... they got soaked so it was rough doing this minor fix

Will know to day it's fixed cause highway speeds it went red hot other day could do 40 mph was weird that in local streets drive 30 - 35 it would be ok but still above center mark.

Car systems work like this the coolant runs through every thing then supposed to come back to radiator and get cooled down to keep system from overheating. SO after i ran it was no need to drain again becuse mt system was claen no muddy water eveer came out which indicates rust n dirt .

They say you should do this regualrly i never did in 7 .5 years owning this lil dodge

that fawwwwwk latino mexican at yard was not good i told him several times to flush it with hose he only blew in resovoir tank and radiator which was not enough to open radiotor

total cost with their $250 fee $400 the mechanic on works on his own two thermostats and $50 to him another $100

You probably need a new radiator Old Billy Boy. They really are not that tough to take out and put the new one in. Just make sure you get the air bubbles out of the system when putting in new coolant. Are you adding half water for every half coolant? 50/50? I can not understand all of your writings so this is why I ask.

nope hehfest it was clogged soon as i took out drain plug that cinched it nothing came out got spot in front of house and after running hose through top hose added the power flush in but said omg had to pudrain plug back in which lil helo seraching found out has to be pushed in then 1 twist .... coulndt do it by hand with vice grips on it lil tap with hammer it went in...

then added clear water and only like 1/2 gal ran car for 40 mins and temp gauge well below the center mark even after going up 2 lines it went back down when fans cooled the radiotor havent driven at high speeds today but will do it now before going to supermarket we have large streets here where i can drive 50 mph for 2 miles

also they say recommend flushin your system if you find rust muddy water and other gook where rdaitor cap is because that dirt greases will fawwwkkk up your whole engine water pump thermostats etc... prestone power flush $8.65 8 oz

now i have full gal of antifeeze i dont need but keeping it just in case the lil leak i had starts again was at thermostat housing

no i do not add water never had problem with full concetrate water causes rust 50/50 pre mix shit cost way more some as high as 21$ tried it years ago it just boiled away faster causing more leaks

car had troubles any way overheating when coolant ran low.
