KMart Down To Just 3 Stores In America
Soon there will be only three open Kmart stores in the U.S.

The Kmart store in Avenel, New Jersey, 15 miles south of New York City, is the latest store scheduled to permanently close on Saturday.

SB360 Capital Partners is managing the store closing sale, according to the liquidation firm's website.

Once it shutters, the number of Kmarts in the U.S. – once well over 2,000 –will be down to three in the continental U.S. and a handful of stores elsewhere, according to multiple reports, in a retail world now dominated by Walmart, Target and Amazon.

For now, Kmart stores in the continental U.S., continue to operate in Westwood, New Jersey; Bridgehampton, on New York’s Long Island; and Miami, Florida.

Together, Sears and Kmart have closed more than 3,500 stores and cut about 250,000 jobs in the past 15 years.

To be honest... I'm surprised how Target has survived. They were in trouble at one point.

The Corporate Fukks are ruthless. Walmart, Target, Amazon, all assassins of middle class Mom & Pop stores. These greedy Corporate Fukks have been at it for about 50 years now.

The Rust Belt, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania keep voting Republican and where has it got them??? Nowhere. Losing good jobs to workers in Southern Red States or worse yet overseas.

The Red States keep voting Republican and where has it got them? Nowhere. Flat wages, reduced Health Care, no more pensions. A bunch of hicks working for Slave Wages.

Keep buying at Walmart, Target, Amazon and watch all the CEO’s hit their million dollar bonuses.

People in Red States think they are in the country club. But they cut their own throats every election. As the late Great George Carlin would say, “it’s big country club and you and I aren’t in it.

Kmart was the shit back in the 80's. That was the only place that I could find The Legend of Zelda at back in 86.

I agree with what you're saying GG. We all miss the mom and pop shops. I wouldn't necessarily blame the Republican party for this Walmart Amazon onslaught. Obama didn't really help the cause when he was in office for 8 years... you could see the SHIFT starting to begin... I owned a business for about 12 years.... in the strip mall.... it was all filled with mom and pop shops.... the only corporate business was a Hungry Howie's pizza... but technically an individual owned the pizza place... you're just using the HH name. A lot of good people in that strip mall... when things got bad... had to close shop.... I drove past that strip mall for the first time since closing down 7 years ago.... only 2 businesses remain out of 13. The Hungry Howie's and a Bar. Everything is vacant... we had a Chinese Restaurant... (REALLY GOOD FOOD) btw.... Flower Shop, Key & Lock, Weight Loss place... and a few other things. They are all gone now. It looks like a ghost town now. Who do you blame?? It's in a middle class neighborhood. 85% white demographic data.

I guess they're only a couple of flash mobs away from the bankruptcy court.
