Yes and No. NYC was pretty safe 10-15 years ago. Some parts were always bad. Now, Its much worse. Pandemic was bad, defund the police was bad, years of bad leadership.

Not only NYC, violence up everywhere.

They need to get NY cleaned up asap. That is our city even if you are from Boston, LA, or the hills in Tennessee. George rolled through there to give us ALL a shot, we aren't letting that sacrifice down. When NY is bad, it is a reflection on us all. It hurts my feelings seeing what happened to that city.

It was the safest I’d ever seen it in 30 years.

I haven’t been post-Covid so I can’t speak to that.

NY has gone to shit. I lived there 30 years and never was a victim of theft or crime. Last time I visited I had my wallet stolen at a casino in upstate ny. They tracked the guy down and got my wallet back with $200 missing and they just let the guy go. I had my car window smashed in nyc and all they took was a book bag that had things important to me but of no value to someone else. Cops had no interest in checking security footage. And I had my phone swiped off my table at a restaurant and the guy just ran off and nobody cared. There are no repercussions to theft anymore so keep an eye on all your shit if you visit.
