    Anyone know about domain hosting?
I've owned various domains for years that i don't use, but are parked in case I decide to ever build a site on them.

I made the mistake of registering them with GoDaddy and after the initial 2 yrs the price jumped massively. They bill 19.95 a yr for the domain name and then all these separate charges for domain protection, ultimate domain privacy and protection, the full domain security and protection privacy, and blah blah blah.

And it's next to impossible to navigate their site for my acct. It's so damn confusing. Every time I select something to try and change I get warnings that I will lose this and that and if I go ahead I will lose all of this and that, and even if I do try and change something and choose to proceed, they'll still make me check this, then recheck email, follow that link, recheck, double triple check that I'm absolutely positive that i don't want the super duper ultimate domain security and privacy protection. Urghhhh! So frustrating.

But my main gripe is the 19.95 a yr. for a domain that I don't even use.

Does anyone know of a cheaper place I can hopefully transfer the domain to for a waayyy cheaper price?

Welp, i checked with hostgator, domain dot com, and network solutions, all showed these cheap domain hosting, but once i explain that i want to transfer my current domains and i want privacy protection, they're all in the same ballpark. They all want 9.95 a yr for privacy protection, and the yearly domain cost for renewal is anywhere from 15.99 a yr to 19.95 a yr, which is same as godaddy. smh, lol

So, i guess i'm stuck at basically 30 bucks a yr to have 3 domains[which would be $90 in total] just sitting in limbo for future use.

www.fabulous.com is $10.50/yr and includes privacy and monetized parking hosting if you want it. And the website makes sense.

i'll ck them out. Seems like all the popular places all charge extra for the privacy. Plus all bait you in with low rate and once it ends it jumps up massively. Now i know for any future buys to purchase the longest term available, usually 5 yrs, at the introductory rate.

None of that stuff there. Used them for 20 years. Ignore the retail thing on the front page. Click "pricing" and it shows the tiers and an email address. Just tell them you want to transfer in from godaddy and they will put you on tier 7.

Transferred 3 domains. Still have to wait a grace period. Go Daddy was a hassle trying to unlock my domains. They'd text me a code and when I'd enter it on their website it'd say it was wrong or that an error had occurred and I needed to contact them.
Had do everything through live chat. Just constant verifying and them sending me codes for each and every step and me replying to verify the codes.
But Fab only charged $7.99 and said WHOIS privacy was included. Said at tier 7 my renew would be $10.53
Way cheaper than GoDaddy wanting $19.99 and another $9.95 for privacy.

I didn't notice an option for multiple yrs or I would've bought for 5 yrs in advance so it'd be out of my mind. lol

Hopefully getting the routing for DNS is simple. I'll need to change that info with my hosting service to redirect to the coming soon pages I've previously built.

But definitely happy with the price.

              Appreciate it Optional.

Good to hear it's still as easy as ever.

You can also have them host a monetized ad page on any unused domains free too.

"normally" you would set your host DNS info in your Domain admin panel at Fabulous. Should not need to do anything at the host end for this change.

Same ones you had set at Godaddy

WoW. That sounds cool. I'll look into that.

                    Well that'll work, lol

After i get email confirmation that they all switched over, should be around the 30th, I'll go to the URL's and double check they still show those Coming Soon pages.

                    Appreciate it.
