What was the dumbest thing sports or gambling related you ever saw in a movie

I heard a guy on the radio today say he was with some woman on a blind date during the movie Titanic and she asked if it was a true story. Lol I guess that was the last date. Sounds like a wife to me.

Anyways I couldn’t think of anything said during watching a movie quite that stupid, so I started thinking about things that were actually stupid in movies.

One thing stuck:

American History X, Edward Norton does a reverse slam dunk to beat the gang members in the game for who gets to use the court after that. Like how ridiculous is that? I’m sure stupid gambling related things have happened in movies but I couldn’t think of any off of the top of my head.

I liked at the end of rounders when mike said he was going to play in the World Series of poker with a 30k bankroll. Wasn’t bad management of his money what got him in trouble in the first place? Still Ed Norton doing a reverse dunk is number 1. He must like basketball. That one spike movie where he fukked Rosario Dawson he was a former player in that.
