A super World War 2 movie, free on Youtube
At least it was 3 days ago.
A 5 Star if there ever was a 5 star war movie?
The comrade between the two stars makes this move a truly discovered gem.
    "The Bridge At Remagen"

I don't know who financed this movie but it had to cost millions of bucks because this is the most authentic description of ww2 war scenes I have ever seen. Easily.
Gazarra is great in this role. Remember him as the psycho in Road House?
He should have won an academy award that time.

All of these superb performers in this war movie have all went bye-bye.
Do we have any like these today to take their place?
      I don't think so?

I was thinking I had already seen this, The Thin Red Line movie, but since I coild get it free, I started watching it again, and wthin 30 minutes I found out I never did see this war movie.
Damn, and not very long afterwards, I find this WW2 portrayal being as good as the Bridge movie I posted here. That was very surprising, too.

But this particular WW-2 version did scare the liv'in hell out of me after imagining myself in a scenario, like, being right there with these Army soldiers. I am not one who follows someone very often, and in this killing machine movie, I am thinking, "are you kidding me?" I have to crawl and climb through possible snake-infested, 4 1'2 foot tall weeds, then get this order to stick your head up and charge as fast as you can up this steep, wide-open terrain? And add in the fortress hiding about 5 machine guns. The weeds and snakes were bad enough, but now, you want me to commit suicide on top of that, too?

And I do have some evidence of Army soldiers drafted into this terrible war, being full of halfassed goofballs. unlike the Marines, who were likely 20 times better trained to survive even a suicide mission such we see depicted here on Guadalcanal? And this movie was bluntly honest enough to show you some examples of just what I thought. Some genuine, really young and dumb green-horns.

No, sorry, I may have been shot by my own fellow soldiers for not following this end-of-life command?
Now I do have to wonder, this was Guadalcanal, are you telling me these poor son-of-#@*ches sacrificed their lives for this crazy-than hell officer, portrayed by Nick Nolte?

My instincts for survival, says, you'll probably have to shoot me right now because I can sense the survival mathematics of surviving a charge such as the one they portray in this movie.
My guess, 3/1 your life is soon over?

So, now, if I was a well-trained Marine instead of a regular Army soldier, okay, now I must take my chances, for one thing, the mathematic equation would now flip to a decent survival percentage. And being fit and full of my well-earned training, I have abundant confidence I can stay alive so I must do this mission. Really, though, being a Marine, I have no choice any way.

        "Ooray," here I go.
