The vulnerability is through iMessage, I wonder if other messaging apps are less vulnerable to this hack?

Everyone I know uses Privacy apps such as Signal Private Messenger and Silence, instead of iMessage and instead of their regular text apps, so hopefully using Privacy apps helps protect against hacking.

I think using Privacy apps over all the apps included originally on phones would help too, because hackers target the most popular and most easy to exploit apps - which are those apps usually included already installed on phones brand new.

Even email apps can replaced with safer email apps, such as Tutanota and ProtonMail apps - instead of gmail and outlook and hotmail etc.

Also, instead of using google to search stuff, for more privacy people can use DuckDuckGo instead and download DuckDuckGo browsers instead of using Safari or crome etc.
