Trust your pal Nasher on this one.
This is one of the funniest poker videos you'll ever see.

Laak is definitely better at live poker type mind games than actual poker. Not bad at poker but definitely better at the mental side involved in live games

I watch and listen to Laak carefully. (personally love the guy)
He knows poker math inside out.
In a coma he can tell you pot odds, implied odds, the whole nine.

Thing about Laak is he's so unpredictable, like the video I posted.
He'll play K7 like he's holding AA, and he'll play AA like it's 28 sometimes.

          Love the guy.

            Phil Laak is awesome.

Drank a beer with him once at the Commerce Casino in LA. Super chill dude.

My Favorite Phil Laak stunt was when he side bet Antonio Esfandiari that if they called the Gamblers Anonymous hotline, he gave 3/2 odds a woman would answer instead of a man.

Anyone remember Ted Forrest? He's about my age and who I tried to model my game after originally. He was kind of quiet and took more in then he gave out. Seems smart to me, but sometimes I talked alot at the table too. Played alot of 10/20 limit back in the day and alot of people will lose much easier to someone thats likeable. In that way poker can be like sales.

I thought I could be a semi-pro there for a while. I made $12k on Bovada in tournaments in May 2005. I cashed my one and only WSOP satellite appearance too. Unfortunately everyone got better and I didn't. I bought my house in 2007 and probably dropped atleast $20k that year. Couldn't win to save my life once I had a mortgage. Funny how that shit happens

Nice story, Brick. Glad that he lives up to the image.

Yes...Laak has been involved in some amazing hands. How can u not like/pull for that guy?

Also, Laak/Tilly are older than people think. They have good genes and look 10yrs younger than their biological ages.

Was out there in 2012 for the LAPC playing tournaments and 60/120 limit mostly.

Was with a few guys. Chopping rooms and staking guys in the $360 tournaments who had went broke.

One night I'm sitting at the bar drinking a beer, Phil laak comes up next to me sits down and orders a beer, I look over at him and instantly recognize him, he's like "what's up buddy".

So we sat there and bullshitted and had a beer for about 20 minutes.

Later that night I ran into him again riding up the elevator to the hotel rooms.

                      Super cool guy.

Salud, Brick. I love stories like that. I have a few of my own.

I tell people that they should expect NOTHING from celebrities. A name celebrity out in public gets recognized all day long. If you greet them and they look less than blown away...it's b/c they've heard the same thing 100x TODAY.

Not to name drop or one up Bricker, I ran into D-Negs at the Borgata in AC.
He gave me maybe five minutes of his time, but he gave me eye contact, showed me some respect, unlike Jeter who I once bumped into at Joe's in the East Village. Jeter wouldn't give me the time of day, looked down at the floor, totally disingenuous.

                          But I digress.
Some of you guys have issues with D-Neg, he was super friendly towards me.
And away from the felt, he's just as super chirpy.
Some say his chirpy talkative personality is just a poker ploy, no, that's the way he is.

He is a tad odd though.

Salud, nashy. There's a saying about DNegs:

*He treats everyone respectfully (usually). When he beats you and takes your $$, you can shake his hand and be happy for him.

                            Can't say that for all/most poker-pros.

I'm not a Yankee fan. Jeter was a great player. Personally, never cared for him. Maybe the #1 most boring interview of all-time. Guy never said a thing.

In his defense, I'm sure his agent told him to never ruffle feathers. Keep the contract/endorsements coming in and enjoy life.

Heard a story about Jeter, not sure it's true. Heard that he would make a girl sign a Waiver before he'd get together with her. Think about the list of Girls he went thru.

                                Heard that same thing.
I can't confirm or deny that though.

My girlfriend at the time, now my wife were at Joe's Pub one Friday night.
If you're from the tri-state area you know about Joe's. (Music, pub, dining)
                                I want to say 1997, maybe 1998.
Jeter was with one of his best pals Jason Sehorn, when Sehorn was with the NYG.
(Sehorn was cool enough, he said Hi to my wife and shook my hand, he's OK)
Anyway, my wife (still is) a huge Sehorn fan, we're standing checking out some music when my wife elbows me in the side and says "That's Jason Sehorn over there, and it looks like Derek Jeter is with him too"
I'm like "Holy shit, you're right"
So she has to go over to meet Jason Sehorn.

My wife is a gigantic New England sports fan, know more sports than half the dudes.
For instance, we're both gigantic UConn homers, we're watching the last Championship game they won (Kevin Ollie's team)
With about a minute left Huskies make a clutch shot to go up seven points, I say to my wife "that bucket is huge"
She says to me "Tell me about it, it puts us up three possessions"

I look at her in awe, I'm like "That's my girl" !
