    Home desktop computer speed?
Is there some very simple way to determine your speed. By this, I don't mean xxx miles per hour. But rather: am I getting what I'm paying for? In term of speed
My company (that I use) raises rates annually and you have to beg for a deal. That's not my point here. I just feel like my speed may have slowed down and how the hell do I know? Non business owner and not a netflix user.
    Thanks

After you run the speed test at the link sanity check provided, if your speed is significantly slower than your ISP claims, look up your modem model on the internet and see if it’s speed is the bottleneck. Older modems may be the limiting factor for your internet speed and, if older, can be well below the 100-300 mbps typically provided by “standard” ISP packages.

The question should be, why does the U.S. really fukking suck in providing Americans decent internet speed compared to other countries.

Check to see if your modem is a Docsis 3.1.... even if you purchase gigabit internet, your speeds won't reach above 300 Mbps if you're running a Docsis 3.0 modem.
