    My MD is retiring.
I am sick about this. he works for a large medical corporation, here in Virginia. The letter listed 2 doctors for me to see. Only one is an MD and not close bye. I called the pharmacy today, where I've been going more than 20 years to ask about the Covid vaccine since his office won't be giving it. They gave me the Virginia Dept of Health to call. (I'm 72 with conditions-plural) When I called, the system said, If calling about Covid press, 2. Well I did that and the response was... "that mail box is full". (The system is broken.) The pharmacy said it didn't matter if I was 99 years of age, they could not give me the vaccine, it had to come through the Dept of Health . They don't have the vaccine.

I am so hesitant and borderline afraid to make the smallest change in any of my insurance or medical needs.

The industry is on the brink and solely reliant upon a smaller group of providers due to the 2008 takeover.

Nealy impossible to get a real person on the phone to get an answer from at the Doctors office, and it's a coin toss if they take your insurance and that package changes annually, but always raises in cost.

The shot(s) are FREE! Your insurance plan(s) want you to get it... MUCH CHEAPER than paying for life on that (breathing)machine if it came to that. Insurance not an issue as i write this!

i am dreading the day when my primary care retires. it will happen. i am 40. he has to be in early 70's. i don't want to have to go thru finding a new doctor. had him for over 20 years.

as for the vaccine, does virginia have a system like nyc where you make an appt in a portal? i did that for my parents.

Virginia has a very screwed up system. One place says this one place says something different. Phone calls they give you to the Dept of Health say, hit for covid..That mailbox is full,,get an operator. All operators are busy and it goes dead. I got signed up online this afternoon where they will send me an email with instructions about the vacine. Atotal cluster!

I'm in North Carolina. All the local County Health Depts have web sites you can go to, answer a few questions and set an appointment. You may have to ck it everyday before you get one. So try the county you live in and the surrounding counties. Makes no difference where you go.
