Dems fumbled on questions. Mitchell started down the path and then she was shut down, and nobody else picked up the ball.

Mitchell got more info and did more damage in 5 minutes than the Dems did the whole time.

I said having a prosecutor ask questions was a great idea. Too bad she barely had any time to get to the facts and then was shut down.

My opinion based on the parts I did see (I know it will be an unpopular opinion in this thread):

1. She seemed very nervous. In my history of public speaking when I am full of shit or not prepared to speak that is when I am nervous. Everyone else felt bad for her. To me it was a sign that she was full of it.
2. She could only remember details when the details could not be corroborated by anyone else. Anything that could easily be dis-proven she "forgot" the details.
3. The journal Cavanaugh kept was suspicious. Who does that?
4. Nobody knows what happened except the parties involved. One person is lieing, so it's just a character game at this point - who do you trust. It is perfectly reasonable and possible that she is doing this for attention, is mis-remembering the facts, or any other number of reasons. It is also possible that he did what he is accused of. If you can't accept both are possible then you are just blinded and arrogant to your own abilities to judge character and who is worth believing in your opinion. The question is do we want to set this kind of precedence in the future. That anybody can be taken down by a story by any random person in the population with little or no evidence.

I personally don't know enough about the case, but from what I saw today I could not draw a definitive conclusion one way or another. I do think it will be a dangerous precedence to set either way. Either you don't believe the potential "victim" or you don't believe a guy who is possibly innocent. In America I'd like to think that you need to have more evidence to take me or someone else down.

Not true. There are at least two ways neither is lying:

1. Ford believes Kavy assaulted her, but mistook him for someone else.
2. Kavvy drank to excess and blacked out or otherwise doesn't recall that he did it.

I think it's more likely than not that both are telling the truth as best they know it and that one of the above explains the discrepancy.

I will say this and I didn’t think it before this hearing. Kavanaugh doesn’t have the temperament to be in Supreme Court......he’s very partisan and brings up the Clintons in his opening statement.....he probably was not the best candidate but it’s a trump pick.

I can agree to that..

Both seemed credible but Kav went on the defense and really proved his case with facts and proof where Ford did not.. Kav has a spotless clean record also for being a good guy... He's been screened and cleared also..

What do we really know about Ford? Not much.... Kav alot more...

Whether you are for or against Kavanaugh, if President Trump has to appoint another judge for SCOTUS, then this is only the beginning.

I think everyone can agree if this works for the Dems then it's game on for any non-liberal who dares goes for SCOTUS, runs for Senate, heck... runs for any political office. They are toast.

The onslaught of allegations w/o evidence will be a daily norm.

Kav did not have facts and proof. The fact that the others at a random party 36 years ago don't remember is to be expected. Mark Judge is the shady one. He needed to be questioned under oath. He gave a vague statement signed by his lawyer. Not good enough. He should have been questioned directly. Deriliction of duty not to do so.

The calendar defense is lolworthy. Were we expecting to see sexual assault on his calendar. Gimme a break.

Kav needed to be asked more about his drinking habits in HS. How much did he drink at these parties.

I would not vote to convict as a crime based only on this, but it's more than enough doubt not to confirm. That, and his performance today does not speak well for his temperament.
