Fuk, I just realized how fukked we are.

We got the mayor of LA saying no large events until herd immunity or vaccine.

We got everyone from the UK to the US saying it will in 2021, when there's a vaccine.

Oddly, when I woke up this morning I had this notion that makes me feel extremely stupid for not realizing it sooner.

I am going to do some further research but the fact is, I am pretty damn sure, that not only is there no cure for the cold when you get it, but mankind has never come up with any kind of vaccine for the commond cold; not for any of the corona viruses.

Despite all the trying, we've never been able to make a corona vaccine (mostly due to mutation frequency).

Maybe if this doesn't mutate, like they say, there's a chance. Maybe.

But to hear the talking heads talk about a vaccine like it's a given with nobody bothering to mention that we've never done anything like it before. Is it really a matter of when? I thinks it's more a matter of "if" with virtually no chance of success.

Just gives me a bit of the chills to realize we must be fukked or they would be more honest about approaching herd immunity and quit talking about 18 months, as if a vaccine is growing in eggs.

And if they do act now and open tings before the second wave, I may not place a North Amercian bet for a very, very long time.

Oh yeah, and if the reports are true that anitbodies wear off with time and people can be reinfected, well then, fuk.

The two pillars of societal reliance seem to be herd immunity and vaccine.

Both of which may not ever be possible with the virus. Maybe.

I suppose the rhetoric will soon change from "wait until enough people are infected or until we get a vaccine" to "your'e just going to have to get used to and live with the fact that this virus is out there."
