I'm borrowing this from another board but it's amusing that:
      1) That she believes the two scenarios are in any way analogous
      2) That she thinks US courts have jurisdiction over Wikileaks
      3) That she thinks foreign citizens can commit treason against the U.S.
      4) That she calls herself an "anti-government conservative" yet believes the government can--and should--do just about anything
      5) That she considers the situation "inexplicable", meaning either that she cannot possibly fathom anyone understanding the situation, or she realizes that she herself cannot understand it
      6) That she managed to shoehorn in a cheap plug for her book

This thread is another in a long list of examples proving how much liberal democrats really hate America.

There are 2 individuals mentioned in this thread, Julian Assange and Sarah Palin:

We have Julian Assange who is NOT a U.S. citizen leaking all sorts of confidential sensitive information about the U.S. for the sole purpose of putting the U.S. in as negative a light as possible.

We have Sarah Palin who is critical of both Julian Assange for leaking the information as well as the Obama administration for not doing enough to stop the leak from being released.

If you read through the postings from the liberal democrats, NOT ONE NEGATIVE thing is mentioned about Julian Assange and instead they choose to criticize Sarah Palin.

This is similar to Cindy Sheehan running into the open arms of Hugo Chavez.

          Subs praising Wikileaks:
biggest leak yet will be out tomorrow - US terrorism in Turkey. Dirty deals with israel and much much more. stay tuned!! can't wait. love wiki leaks.
          Muldoon defending Wikileaks:
Wikileaks is kind of the TMZ of government and military documents. These kinds of document releases used to be called journalism (Pentagon Papers) - now half the press spends their time bashing wikileaks instead of shining light on what they reveal.
GoldenYak (have to get a chuckle with his claim that Assange is pro-American)
Julian Assange, the founder of wikileaks, is actually very pro american. The entire purpose of his website is freedom of information.
          Knickflip defending Wikileaks:
What specifically has wikileaks done to cause harm to a single US soilder? All the leaked documents are from multiple years ago so if you had half a brain you would know why they don't endanger US lives now. Unfortunately fox news has done a great job of demonizing anyone who threatens to spread the truth about our militaristic US society.
BlueHorseShoe trashing Palin while saying nothing critical of Wikileaks:
Sarah Palin would have been able to stop the leak. Is she really this dense???
Andy117 criticizing Sarah Palin while saying nothing negative about Wikileaks
I'm borrowing this from another board but it's amusing that
          1) That she believes the two scenarios are in any way analogous
          2) That she thinks US courts have jurisdiction over Wikileaks
          3) That she thinks foreign citizens can commit treason against the U.S.
          4) That she calls herself an "anti-government conservative" yet believes the government can--and should--do just about anything
          5) That she considers the situation "inexplicable", meaning either that she cannot possibly fathom anyone understanding the situation, or she realizes that she herself cannot understand it
          6) That she managed to shoehorn in a cheap plug for her book :
SUBS, MULDOON, GOLDEN YAK, KNICKFLIP, BLUEHORSESHOE and ANDY117 - I'm not sure which of these people are U.S. citizens and which are not. The U.S. citizens among this group should be absolutely ashamed of themselves.

The plain, simple truth is that Julian Assange is nothing more than a foreigner who hates the U.S. and is releasing these confidential secret documents in hopes that it will lead to as much of the world turning against the U.S. as possible. It is no surprise to me that the liberal democrats in this thread are praising what Assange is doing while at the same time bashing Palin for being opposed to it.

When all those around the world who hate us see our own people defending the likes of Julian Assange, it gives them all the more encouragement to hate America.

You liberal democrats make me ABSOLUTELY SICK!!! What is the matter with you people?

let's say the politicians were behaving themselves and were:

A/ NOT the biggest war mongers since hitler
B/ NOT selling us out to the banks
C/ NOT involved in bribery and corruption
D/ NOT trying to control us more and more
E/ NOT pedophiles and sex criminals
F/ NOT causing massive pollution and environmental disaster

then i do not think there would be any leaks about government.

This leaking damages negotiations...not specific ground missions. Which, in the larger scheme, is worse.

assange has released stuff about other countries not just the US. he is about freedom of media and accountability not treason and lies.

if any government is doing things that are inherently wrong they should be exposed. Now if the citizens are OK with this then that is fine - but they should know what their government does,.so should you before you defend the government you should know what it does.

"Loyalty to country ALWAYS. Loyalty to government, when it deserves it."
                  — Mark Twain

"Politics is supposed to be the second oldest profession. I have come to realize that it bears a very close resemblance to the first." Ronald Reagan

IMO sometimes you gotta slap a whoe down so you think it is ok to sponsor terrorists against your supposed allies or tap the UN and steal credit card numbers/DNA? OR not?

The Republican party threatening to block the START treaty will do more to damage negotiations going forward than this will.

What exactly has Russia conceded since the previous 2 times we've given ground?

Both sides are playing politics with this thing...that part I don't like. But the main thing that concerns me..and should concern others....is that once again Obama has made the case "Just trust me, we've GOT to get this done within a week....it'll pan out later...just hurry...trust me" Ring a bell? If this were such a priority...why not take it up BEFORE the lame duck time crunch?

And Sarah Palin attacking the President of the United States for something he had no control over is patriotic. You see anything disgusting with what she's throwing out there? It's so "American" of her to try and undermine the President every time something short of a "glass breaking" occurs in the world, in order to build herself up.

She's truly a credit to the Republican party. "No plan, just bitching."

AndyWend and used car salesman are so brain dead they don't even realize their political aligned with Hilary Clinton on this issue. Listening to her talk yesterday about how wiki leaks threatens US interests (military-industrial complex) she sounded exactly like Bush. The latest leaks have revealed that Sec. Clinton told US diplomats to spy on UN leaders. One reason she is already speaking out against the leaks.

The politicians want status quo, when we give them a blank check in the form of military spending we shouldn't be surprised when we learn about cases of abuse. We need to know the answers to these question: How does the us gov lobby for allies? How do we spend that massive amount of military expenditures? Is it benefiting everyday americans? Is it really making us safer?

How can we answer these questions when dems and republicans who have been in power the past 30 years want to operate behind closed doors with ZERO transparency.

The more we know about how our gov operates/spend money the better. More info is better. At a time when such a high portion of our society gets its news from propaganda media outlets like fox news(owned by super rich) we need independent sources more then ever.

I didn't do any wagon hitching Dwight. I do not think Assange should have any consequences though and I'm sure you see that as an endorsement.
