There's a difference between getting things wrong, and then either
- pretending you never said them
- lying and saying it was taken out of context or fake news
Rush and Trump have huge audiences, and considering how hard you go to bat for Trump, obvious deep influence over people and how they behave. (Imagine right now if with everything we know and see about the spread of this "no worse than the common cold" - Trump insisted people go to church. Not all of them would, but you damn well know a big % would)
Downplaying it, then claiming later he knew it was a pandemic is purely face saving for Trump - but in truth, he would have NEVER had rallies and been shaking hands etc if he truly believed it.
Everyone gets shit wrong all the time - it's how they admit it (or refuse to) that shows their character.
Phrases like "hoax" and "it'll wash over" and "15 to 0" will forever be part of Agent Orange's legacy.

There's a huge penetrating difference between betting on a game and being wrong, and having a following who hangs on your every word, and being wrong about LIFE AND DEATH issues.
So to you, everyone is basically a tout who can just ignore their game of the year loss - or worse, lie and say they never made the prediction.
You're go to the mat for this fvks - that's the difference.
People shouldn't have to ask for forgiveness when they get everything wrong (Trump recently claimed the stock market was starting to look real good. Ok, got that one wrong. Bad call - but it's pretty much a guessing game)
It's the denial and lying that gets to some people. For me, it goes back a long time with Trump especially - it's been a pattern

That was a penetrating outright lie. He may have seen the erroneous news report that showed people in Gaza dancing (which turned out to be them celebrating some other terrorist attack or something) - but the amount of dust and smoke when the buildings fell, there is NO penetrating WAY he saw Jersey City.
So instead of just saying "maybe I got it wrong. Maybe it was on TV or somewhere else" (which is possible) - he just doubles down and blames the reporter or the paper or whomever.
One lie does not equal another. A politician may say "I'll bring back coal jobs" and then find out that it's not feasible, but they actually thought the reason the jobs were leaving was for a lack of will or leadership (and not economics).
When people use his own words - he can't defend them. He suddenly dives into "nuance". Whether it's mexico paying for the wall, or him obviously sending out a message that if you're not nice to him, your state will get bumped down the list for emergency resources.
How people can trust or support lying sociopath like Trump is absolutely beyond me. I get it, you do - but I don't, and never will.Comment -

BTW, the Italian mob finally blew this guy up. he was a sharp Irish man so he was very careful. the italians knew he was going to the doctor/dentist and placed the bombs (huge bombs) in the car next to his. and blew him up remotely, couldn't find one piece of him.Comment
