The discuss the impacts of money in politics.
Back in the day, say, the 50's, 60's or even 70's, republicans in this country were largely moderate. They supported things like social security, the freeway system, unions, high taxes on the super rich.

Now let's examine how far one person, deticated to spending whatever it takes to make America some "libertarian utopia", can almost single handedly, drag an entire political party.

this is David Koch's libertarian party platform in 1980. It was considered some kooky right wing Bullshit. Nowadays it's standard rightwing talking points, coincidence? I think not, something tells me all that money they spend has something to do with it.

David Koch ran as the Libertarian Party’s vice-presidential candidate in 1980.
Read the excerpts from the 1980 Libertarian Party platform and indicate whether you agree with the agenda or not.
“We urge the repeal of federal campaign finance laws, and the immediate abolition of the despotic Federal Election Commission.”*

“We favor the abolition of Medicare and Medicaid programs.”*

“We favor the repeal of the fraudulent, virtually bankrupt, and increasingly oppressive Social Security system. Pending that repeal, participation in Social Security should be made voluntary.”*

“We support the eventual repeal of all taxation.”*

“We support repeal of all law which impede the ability of any person to find employment, such as minimum wage laws.”*

“We oppose all government welfare, relief projects, and ‘aid to the poor’ programs. All these government programs are privacy-invading, paternalistic, demeaning, and inefficient. The proper source of help for such persons is the voluntary efforts of private groups and individuals.”*

This is clearly an issue everyone should be able to agree on. And is easily the most important issue in American politics today.

^^^ this idiot probably doesn't know I've blocked his worthless ass because he hasn't made a single reasonable point in the months I've posted here.

i mean, I don't even need to read his post to know he wrote something stupid with a bunch a smiley faces. That much is certain. I'd be flat shocked if he wasn't conducting English class.

i suppose outside shot he says "what, unions and the Kochs are obv the same, who gives a fck, dis be freedom"

Both parties have moved to the edge since the 70s. It used to be that the democrats were the party of tax cuts and pro war. That didn't change from the Kochs, it changed by numerous people being in power and having positions of influence.

To say democrats have moved left is hilarious. You're not arguing that, are you?

this is an issue conservatives and liberals should be united on.

I am, they've moved way to the left since the 50s-60s.

Nash is a stone fckng drooler.

Sure moron, the Kochs aren't running for office, but the people they spend billions on are.

Naturally, this fcking idiot thinks that the republicans adopting David Koch's 1980 position on all the things Americans support is a pure fcking coincidence.

                      what a moron.

Thank for bumping his comment, now I can defend myself.

Is that the reason why this dipshit is always the first 4 responses to his own thread?

seriously dude, every person I respect played sea ML or 2.5 +100

This coming from the guy who voted Obama and would have clinton too if he was old enough. And, now he talks about how obama and clinton sold him out. That's too funny.

Scum LOVES Obama, but he will never admit to that. He can't stand people who have money and influence because he will never have any of that. He kisses Obama's arse every time he get's a chance, but pretends not to like him when he gets caught. He has the same problem that most liars have. He lies so much that he cannot remember what he said. Easy target.
