Question about poker at the casino

So i recently started going to the casino around my house to play at the poker room and have a question about it.

When people go all in on the flop/turn, the dealer does not make the people in the hand flip their cards for the "showdown". Once someone is all in, the delaer will wait a second to see if the players are going to flip and if they don't then they just deal the turn and river and the loser will muck if he wants. I play in Niagara Falls and it's the only casino I've gone to so idk if it's just this casino that allows that or not but how is it at other casinos? Like in vegas? Do they make u flip your cards (like on tv) or do you not have to etc.?

I guess it's kind of a dumb question but whenever I play it's annoying to not know what someone has even when there all in on the flop so I was jw how it is at other places.

You never have to showdown in a cash game if you don't want to. Flipping your cards up when you're all in is a tournament rule. Every card room/casino has their own house rules, but in a cash game you have to show 2 cards for a winner. You can always muck a loser.

Don't get too caught up on what you see on tv, i.e., High Stakes Poker, Poker After Dark. These are private cash games. Most lower stakes games at card rooms will not let players make agreements during all ins such as running it twice, taking $ out of the pot, etc. It takes up too much time and time = rake and tips.

Actually in most card rooms I've been to you can force the dealer to show the losing hand as long as the losers hand doesn't touch the muck. If he simply throws his 2 cards 2 inches in front of his hands, you can ask the dealer to show those cards. However, this is extremely rude.
