World Cup Standings- Is there a mercy rule?
Just messing around and dropped the standings into excel. US blowing everyone out of the water.

***stay out of this thread with your negativity Emily and Foreskin.

    Total Points of Top 20

    Canada-38,510
    World-22,140 *** Only 17 ppl listed
    Europe-41,795
    US-66,865

    Total Wins Top 20
    Canada-180
    World-105 *** Only 17 ppl listed
    Europe-173
    US-251

So basically combining the World with either Europe/Canada and you still wouldn't be @ the total points of the US.

John do the right thing and shut this down and divide the points to the US. We don't want the software crowning a false champion.

Making the playoffs is a big difference than winning the championship. The U.S. was an embarassment in last years Ryder's Cup championship. So get off this U.S. is the greatest bs.

The same thing happens in the Olympics. US comes home with a truckload of medals. It helps when you have three and four contestants in each race when most countries are lucky to field one player.
Yet the U.S. still could not win the only gold medal that matters in the Olympics, the 100 yard dash.

That's doing some damn work at this place. I don't know who was on the team last year, but the US is going to have some good players this year.

Don't really see the big deal, it's a fun event that's free. The way I see it, if I can't make the US team I don't deserve to get anything.

Obviously you missed the part where I said "John do the right thing and shut this down and divide the points to the US. We don't want the software crowning a false champion."

                    Hence what happened last year.

There's no one that I mind seeing at the table from any country.

Are you really surprised at the results? The WSOP is exactly like that too. More entrants from one country the more winners. Duh.

Sample size is tiny for anything. Play 10 000 Sng/mtt's and come back with some results.

Hey Ninersnut. Now I realize why you're the type of guy who would post a thread asking for "mercy" in poker. We'll go ahead and add you to the list of hit and run scumbags on this site. Don't see it too often at 5/10 but nice work hitting a prayer and then leaving cause "some people have to "work".

You'd better not let me see you at 5/10 again because it's not gonna be quick and painless. It's gonna be long..drawn out...and will leave your soul empty.

                        Until then...

Well bravo pal. You "caught" me. I might have taken a different line on the hand if you advertised that you were going to sit out right after that hand. "calling" an allin with top pair on an unthreatening board where you probably fire with a high there. And "allin" was more like 1/4 of a buyin for the table limit. It was only "allin" to you. But, alas, well played. Keep yourself nice and lubed up...I'll see you around.

There are 7 tournaments a day, about 280 people playing. You might get involved in a big hand with a particular person once a week other than the final table where its almost push/fold. If anyone is afraid of someone in free buyin tourneys I suggest seeing a psychiatrist.
