Who else hates the damn NOOBS that play at SBR???? Ping: Mikemca
Some poor dude went on tilt at me for playing too cautiously with a big stack on the last table in the 10am today. He goes out in third place and lets loose a tirade of "Noob. Pussy etc etc".

Can't recall his name but Mikemca was the other player at the table. (if you read this would love to hear your opinion Mike)

I'm pretty sure I must be "ludicrously bad", as I've had at least 5 other people go off at me the same way at different times. But here I am after playing my first game in July with 18 cashes out of maybe 40 tournies. Probably 4 wins among that and probably 15 of 18 of those in the top half of the final table.

Anyway, I've found it very very helpful in my learning process when people do this. I figure if what I have just done is soooooo obviously dumb that someone is moved to abuse me over it, I had better take some notice. Not that I automatically change my style, but it's very very useful to know what these 'drone players' are convinced I should be doing when it comes to beating them.

So in return I would like to be helpful to 'experts' that have helped me...

Complaining about the way noobs play just shows you can't do anything but follow "the rules" and simply don't have the creativity (or maybe brains?) to deal with anyone who doesn't play how you expect.

Not saying I'm good. All I have is common sense and patience going for me. I know I have no clue about stack management or seating positions or amounts I should raise. But it's hilarious playing with a frustrated poker expert who thinks they 'should' beat me every time because I'm 'bad'. You hardly even need to know the rules to beat most of the dummies who think they know all about poker around here!

If you guys were actually sharp, the last thing you would do is tell a bad player like me where I am going wrong. Surely if you had half a brain you would do everything you could to keep me playing at your table?

    HTH

10 AM is full of madmen.

I'm scared to play at that time.

Oh well, I'll try again tomorrow.

I've only played poker at a casino once. Sat at a table for a short time before I realized everyone else knew each other and I was the target.

I finally won a decent sized pot and this one joker booms "How could you draw for a flush???". I had zero idea what I had done wrong but that guy made it so obvious I was a fish to be gutted I picked up my stack and left. He started trying to tell me I couldn't do that as two of the other players called him an idiot.

I learned enough from the glass tappers in that hour to not bother playing another game of poker for 20 years, until I started playing online here.

I was at your table Optional. I didnt see the comment but people need to understand that once you make the final table, it becomes a shootout again because of the fast blind structure. Whatever your style of play, whether it be traditional, Lag, push/fold, its working. People start to bitch because they probably cant comprehend what your trying to do.

I wouldn't read too much into it as a lot of people go crazy in the chat box after they lose.I find it amusing that people that obviously have a hard time controlling their emotions are trying to berate anyone in a game where a big part is controlling your emotions. As for the game I thought your calling /shoving ranges weren't that tight at all.In fact some folds you made when we got heads up probably won you the match as I figured to have you in pretty bad shape if you just said fk it we only have 10bbs I call.

The thing that has gotten ridiculous is the play 11/10 handed.

Sometimes strong players will sit down and make stupid comments to become the target. It's a level. Instead of having to go after the fish, the fish come to you. Better make sure that fish is a fish.

Glad you found this Mike. Thanks for comments.

I haven't been in final 3 with the large stack before. I 'think' I would have played it pretty much how you did if I was short but my main concern where I was was to not give you two a sniff at doubling up before one of you took the other out. Then heads up with you I was thinking my stack was big enough to wait it out for an opportunity when you tried to steal the blinds when I had a half decent hand. Not the nuts. Just an A suited or something like that.

I can see how people bully the table and steal pots with the big stack, but that only works if you are playing people who are a little lose really doesn't it? And isn't it also true that there is no need to take many risks in that position? If I'd thrown away 5 or 6 thousand on speculators even 3 times I would have lost position and had to start calling on riskier stuff.

Or I am just going to 'lose slower' most times with that attitude? Should I always try to dominate when placed as the large stack like that again?

Hope you (or someone else) doesn't mind schooling me a bit here, despite my smart comment about not doing it above.

*Edit: Just remembered. In the hand you took the 3rd placed guy out, I was holding a strong hand that would have won. I thought seriously about pushing after you two had. But folded it because of what I said above about not giving either of you a sniff at me. Bad move usually?

Online poker players who berate other players verbally are nothing more than wannabe "Internet Tough Guys" hiding behind their computers. They wouldn't try that shit out in the real world, because more than likely their scrawny little asses would get handed to them in no time, and they know it.

I've played the game long enough to know that you can win at poker playing just about any style, so play your game and don't worry about what some moron says to you - those players are (most of the time) losing players who are incapable of figuring out why they are, indeed, losing players.

Win with class, lose with class...a lesson one person, apparently, needs to learn.

Yeah it is pretty much always best to play very aggressive in spots where you are big stack.Especially on the final table bubble and shorthanded. The bubble because people will fold hands they would normally play when they afraid to bust before getting paid and shorthanded because the odds of someone picking up a strong hand are remote.Sure there are exceptions but for the most part you will win far more tournaments being a bully and will just cash more often than not if you play passive.
