    Bodog Poker "update"
    They've outdone themselves this time.

When will bodog stop calling these "updates" and begin calling them "downgrades"?

With every "update" the software and poker gets worse and worse.

For reasons only known to themselves, Bodog has decided to hide full tables. There are also no waiting lists. So when a casual player (or any player for that matter) logs in, its going to look like the site is completely dead. It's also a pain in the ass to sit at a table. Don't really understand this one unless they're trying to kill off poker. It's on top of the list of dumbest moves a poker site has ever made.

Would it be possible to simply show the tables that are running? We can still not allow anyone who is not on the table from viewing who is playing on them and eliminate the waiting lists. When I log in, especially in the morning, I have no idea what stakes are running and which ones are not. It takes forever to find a table. There is no way this doesn't discourage casual players. There has to be a happy median between showing activity on the site and protecting the casual players.

When your on ring games, they have a "hide empty tables" check option at the top right

Yes, but they hide the full ones by default now. There is no option for you to view them. The empty tables aren't the problem.

The only thing that I can think of that in some warped sense of justice Bodog is thinking this might partially protect the casual player from being bum-hunted by guys trolling through the tables.

This post below is from a poster at 2+2. I don't think the update is as bad as I initially thought it was, but I would like to show that there are full tables. They don't necessarily have to show the players on it.

Thank you for contacting Bodog Poker Customer Service.

Regarding your inquiry, we were very happy to see that you have used one of the feedback tools on our website. Your opinion matters to us, as we are a company that understands the need to listen to our players. The executives and senior managers that run our company review all of the feedback submitted by our players daily. Those suggestions, comments and criticisms give us an improved decision making process.

Please note that by not being able to view a full table, we will be eliminating the 'wait list' feature from our Poker Software. Players will now only be able to join a table by physically joining an empty seat.We decided to make this change to make our lobbies a lot less cluttered and also to make it easier to choose a specific game. We found that by making this a static option, this will assist in better navigation of our software. We are also trying to avoid the 'Shark' behavior in our poker room, this consists in players that get into the tables just to look for inexperienced players in order to sit with them later on to take advantage of them and also to avoid the use of tracking softwares in our application.

The lobby will now look a lot more cleaner and also at times may appear that there are not many tables running. However, if you are watching a table which becomes full, you will still be able to view that specific table. As soon as you close that table, you will not be able to view it again until a seat opens up.

With regard to your comments, we will forward your feedback to our managers and developers for them to take it in consideration. Please note that we always give regular maintenance to our poker room that is essential in keeping the poker room working at its very best.

If you would like to discuss this more, please feel free to respond directly to this email. If you ever encounter a problem or have a question that requires immediate attention, please do not hesitate to contact our 24/7 Poker Customer Service Team at 1-866-909-ACES (2237) or poker@bodog.eu.
Thank you very much for writing. Should you have any questions, or require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

                Regards,

I haven't played Bodog poker for quite some time, but I used to love their poker software.
